When I started in this business in 1984, I had no idea how much enjoyment and personal satisfaction I would experience in this new career.
Over the years I have received national honors for my consistently high client service and production levels. I am proud of this recognition that my approach to this business and the way I try to deal with people must work.
So what's my secret? I'm not sure. But for one, I certainly know the territory. I've lived either in Orange or Chatham County since 1963. I taught school for 10 years. I raised two daughters. My experiences have helped me advise my clients on things like schools, recreation, daycare, neighborhoods and the general quality of life.
In 1988, I decided to expand my focus to include new homes and communities. It was the right decision. I learned the art of working with builders and developers, as well as how to interpret the desires of new home owners.
I have also found that my knowledge of new home construction helps me evaluate older homes. For a seller, I know what turns lookers into buyers. For clients looking to buy, I know what's important to have taken care of and what's not worth worrying about. And I know how to negotiate effectively on either end.
In closing, I guess I'd say the thing I do best is listen. Listen to buyers. Listen to sellers. And then I get to work and don't stop until the job is done.
I'd enjoy listening to you and then getting your job done, too.
